Tehreem Husain is a Departmental Lecturer in Economic and Social History at the University of Oxford (from Jan 2025). Prior to this she was the ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow and the Economic History Society Power Fellow both at the Department of Economic History, LSE. She is a member of the Financial History Group at LSE and a Honorary Research Associate at UCL.
Her doctoral thesis ‘Foreign Investment and Infrastructure Financing: Railways During the First Age of Globalisation’ takes an investor’s perspective to explore the drivers and patterns of investment flows in railway financing during a period of high financial integration. Tehreem's recent research interests explore the role of underwriters in railway financing. She has recently published a paper Full article: Agents, brokerage and Argentinian railways 1880–1905 in Business History.
Tehreem writes for a number of different outlets including the Express Tribune, Pakistan's English daily newspaper and The Property Chronicle, a magazine on real estate investment and financed published in London.
